Description
Portland, Oregon reflecting into the Willamette River. Also known as “Bridgetown” because of the vast number of bridges spanning both the Willamette River (pictured here) and the Columbia River, as well as various small streams, land gaps and gulches and other terrain features. Other names include “Stumptown” because of the vast numbers of trees that were removed to build the city, “PDX” for its 3 letter airport code and “City of Roses” because of both the enormous rose garden in Washington Park and all over the city due to the ideal climate for roses.
